| A | It is a condition that makes itself known in the life of an individual before adulthood. The condition arises from mental retardation or from other sources, like cerebral palsy, epilepsy or autism. An individual with a developmental disability experiences impairment of intellectual function or adaptive behaviors like communication, social skills and self-care. |
