Strategic Plan First-Year Goals Yield Success

In July 2006, Mosaic launched a five-year strategic plan titled "Leading on a Grand Scale." The name intended a musical metaphor to show how our employees, donors, clients and volunteers all work together to create a leading-edge model of support and partnership for people with disabilities. Mosaic is proud to share the successes we have achieved on the first-year goals of that plan. Here are some specifics:
  • We have implemented Personal Outcome Measure (POM) interviews to make sure that client's desires are the basis of their support plan. In the last year, 98.57% of all the people Mosaic supports had a POM interview with that information incorporated into their service plan.
  • We have worked to increase employee feedback and satisfaction through a partnership with the Gallup Organization through a process called Q12. Last year 75% of employees participated in the Q12, exceeding Mosaic's goal of 60%.
  • We have worked to reduce the turnover rate of key employees. Turnover for Executive Directors and Direct Support Managers was reduced to 13.4% and 21.8% (exceeding the goals of less and 20% and 30% respectively).
  • We're increasing our use of technology to provide better data and more efficient operating systems. The implementation of Mosaic's Integrated Quality Data Management (IQDM)™ system and ReadyAccess is in progress.
  • We restructured our operations teams and national supports to empower agencies and streamline decision-making.
  • We have increased our influence internationally through alliances which will enable Mosaic to provide training and technical assistance in Kenya and Tanzania.
  • We raised more than $5.6 million dollars in total gifts, including current and estate gifts, exceeding the overall total goal of $3.85 million.
  • We raised $3,311,000 for affordable housing, exceeding the goal by 68%.

New Short-Term Strategic Goals for 2007-2008

We have set new short-term goals for the current year revolving around increased employee satisfaction and engagement, quality services, fund raising and sustainability, and increased technological capacity.

Mosaic will continue to set these high goals because we intend to be an organization that is renowned for our quality, tireless in our advocacy and secure through our stewardship. Together the cooperative efforts of employees and the people we support, our donors and our volunteers, that vision will be realized.
