Advocacy

At Mosaic, advocacy is a part of our mission. We advocate for and with people who have disabilities so they may choose appropriate supports, defend their rights, and express their opinions. Mosaic advocates find their voices heard locally in their own communities, in statehouses across the land, in our nation's Capitol, and in several countries around the world.
In 2007, Mosaic embarked on a new era of advocacy. Realizing the need to separate activities that directly influence policymakers from those that are intended to generate new evidence-based solutions and raise awareness about disability issues, Mosaic split the former Advocacy Department into two distinct areas:
- The Mosaic Collaborative for Disabilities Public Policy and Practice
.. the research/information arm of advocacy - Governmental Affairs Office
... the influence/action arm of advocacy
