Advocacy at Mosaic


At Mosaic, advocacy is a part of our mission. We advocate for and with people who have disabilities so they may choose appropriate supports, defend their rights, and express their opinions. Mosaic advocates find their voices heard locally in their own communities, in statehouses across the land, in our nation's Capitol, and in several countries around the world.

In 2007, Mosaic embarked on a new era of advocacy. Realizing the need to separate activities that directly influence policymakers from those that are intended to generate new evidence-based solutions and raise awareness about disability issues, Mosaic split the former Advocacy Department into two distinct areas:

Support Rosa's Law

Eliminate the use of the terms "mentally retarded" and "mental retardation" and support Rosa's Law. Read more about this bipartisan bill that was recently introduced.
