Volunteer
Volunteers are welcome at Mosaic in Axtell. If you want to give back to the community, come volunteer and have fun doing it!
Volunteers to support the individuals in service directly and the needs of the individuals indirectly are equally valued. We have both support positions and direct service volunteer opportunities available.
Some of the available opportunities
are:
- Special Event Planning - Monthly parties are held at Bethphage Village. Homes on our
village host these parties and always welcome help with planning and
preparation, and enjoy having volunteers join in the fun. Parties are
also held for the following holidays; New Year's Day, Easter, the 4th of
July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Gardening - Plant or help maintain a flower garden at our village. One
of Bethphage Village's long-term goals is to develop flower gardens
throughout our village. Volunteer groups can join us in this project by
planting a flower garden or helping maintain gardens that are already
established. (We provide everything needed to develop a beautiful
garden except your time and talent!)
- Get Active - Hold a softball, baseball, football or soccer game at our
village. We provide the ballfield, all the game equipment and the
fans. You provide the players! This is a great activity to get two
volunteer groups together and have some fun.
- Adopt-A-Home Program - For those groups that want to see year-round
rewards, Adopt-A-Home is a wonderful opportunity.
- Holiday Preparation - Help
us prepare for our Holiday Lighting Contest. Every year our village
holds a holiday outdoor decorating contest. You can help home residents
hang the outdoor lights and decorations. Your group can adopt a home
for the holiday season and help them win the contest!
- Assist Property Managers - Help enhance the indoor and outdoor environments
for our residents. Help to improve the appearance of the village
buildings by helping to paint, wash windows or pick up unwanted trash on
the village grounds.
- Musical Activities - Plan an evening sing-a-long, join
us for Karaoke or present a talent show. If your group loves to sing or
has talents they would like to share with us, let us help you plan an
evening or afternoon at our village. Activities like these may take
place on a home patio, at a bonfire or at our beautiful Zion Chapel.
- Arts & Crafts - Share you craft and woodworking talents with Bethphage Village. Our craft training areas appreciate help with many of the craft projects they create. We need to have wood patterns cut or finish work done on crafts that the people we support create. Projects such as these will be delivered to you and when completed will be picked up at a location of your choice. We also appreciate any new craft ideas that can be used in our training areas. Our village has four day service sites. We are always looking for new projects and activities.

All service projects will be coordinated with the help of Bethphage Village's Volunteer Coordinator. Projects which involve interaction with the residents of our village, will have the help and support of staff present at the time of the service project. Work projects, completed at our village, will have the guidance of appropriate Mosaic staff.
