Title: Executive Director
Brief description of your role: As Executive Director I work collaboratively with our leadership team to provide leadership and direction to ensure that Mosaic Colorado Springs provides premier services that enhance quality of life one person at a time. It is in this way we are working to accomplish our national mission: in partnership with people who have disabilities, Mosaic provides support and advocates that all may realize God's gift of wholeness of life. It is a distinct pleasure to be associated with the dedicated professionals that make up our team.
When did you begin working for Mosaic? I came to Mosaic in June 2005 from Illinois. It was through many conversations and prayers that lead me to Mosaic in Colorado Springs. I truly enjoy our work and mission at Mosaic.
Best part of your job? Our dedicated team of professionals that have come from a wide array of backgrounds to work together to serve people who have disabilities. We often talk about that to work at Mosaic you must come to serve with your heart. I am proud of our team and the direction we are moving.
Brief description of your past work experience: My early career was in local church ministry as a pastor. This experience lead me to pursue formal clinical training in Marriage and Family Therapy at Purdue University. For 10 years I worked in several roles at a residential treatment program, Indian Oaks Academy, which specialized in treating juvenile sex offenders in Illinois. During my tenure I was Clinical Supervisor fo the All Stars Program, a program specially designed for developmentally disabled juvenile sex offenders. I also practiced as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in treating adult sex offenders and marital and family related problems. I have a BA in Psychology from Southwest Baptist University, a Masters of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Seminary, and a Masters of Science from Purdue University. My experience includes program turn around and start up, training and professional presentations in a variety of venues.
Hobbies/interests/other roles: When not at work I enjoy being with my family. I enjoy being outdoors and spend the fall hunting in both Colorado and Missouri. I also enjoy hiking, camping and skiing. My goal is to climb as many 14ers as possible. I currently have done 5 and counting. A new goal this year is to learn to snowboard. I am a member of The Rotary Club of Colorado Springs and Strategic Alliances BNI Chapter.
