Congratulations to Mosaic in Delaware! The agency celebrated its 20th Anniversary on Thursday, May 20 with a celebration for clients, staff and supporters that included singing and dancing, employee recognition, a raffle, auctions and more, including a tribute video to all staff members.
Four staff members were recognized with a 20-year service award for their commitment and dedication. They are Bill Brown, Bill Jenkins, Jill Turner and Tim Fisher. Terry Olson, Executive Director for Mosaic in Delaware and the Master of Ceremony for the event, was presented with the agency's H.E.R.O (Helping Everyone Respect Others) award from the staff.
The agency presented an award to Marianne Smith, past Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, for her service and commitment to people with intellectual disabilities. Delaware Senator Thomas Carper was also honored, with the awared being received on the senator's behalf by his Delaware Director, Larry Windler. Jerry Clifton, Mosaic Delaware committee member, also presented Mosaic in Delaware with a Senate Tribute on behalf of Senator Bethany Hall-Long, Secretary of the Senate Bernard Brady, and President Pro Tempore Anthony DeLuca.
All of the funds raised at the 20th Anniversary Celebration will be used to pay for life essentials for people Mosaic Delaware serves. The limited "Personal Spending Allowances" which each person we serve receives each month is simply not enough for many of them to pay for all of these personal expenses. The Essentials of Life Fund (ELF) was created to provide for those essential personal needs that many of the persons we serve cannot afford.
Mosaic in Delaware is licensed to serve over 70 persons with intellectual disabilities in 16 neighborhood homes in communities in New Castle and Kent Counties.
