Terry Olson

Terry Olson was born in west central Minnesota to a fourth generation farming family. He was raised primarily in the resort town of Alexandria, Minnesota. He attended the nearby University of Minnesota Morris (UMM). He received his Bachelors degree in 1976 with majors in Sociology and Social Sciences; and a secondary teaching certificate.


After teaching briefly in a public high school, Terry accepted a position as a vocational instructor in a Developmental Achievement Center serving adults with developmental disabilities in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.

In 1977 Terry accepted a position as a residential Direct Support Professional at the historic Laura Baker School in Northfield, Minnesota. A short time later Terry was promoted to a
Residential Director position.


Ever since, Terry has continued to work primarily in the administration of residential services for persons with Developmental Disabilities. Subsequent opportunities included several years in West Virginia as and agency State Administrator and work in Maryland.

Terry began serving as the administrator for the Mosaic Delaware agency, (then known as Martin Luther Homes of Delaware) in 1993 and has been privileged to work ever since as a servant leader for the persons with intellectual disabilities, the talented staff and all the various other constituents of this agency.

Terry has also done independent consultant work in the field and served in a number of leadership capacities for state associations: Terry has also had the opportunity to be a founding member of three Human Rights Committee and continues to be passionately dedicated to supporting all persons with developmental disabilities, in making choices and exercising their human and civil rights.


Terry currently is active with the DElarf Provider Association; serves on the University of Delaware, Center For Disabilities Studies, Advisory Committee; and is the Delaware State Representative for the National ANCOR (American Network Of Community Options & Resources).
