Seeing the Need

The legacy of Mosaic began almost 100 years ago on the plains of America's heartland as a compassionate response to the neglect people with disabilities knew in the institutions of that time.  Mosaic in Farmington was established in 2001 with our fist home located in Aztec, N.M. Today Mosaic in Farmington provides supports and advocacy for more than 50 people with intellectual disabilities.

Community Garden for Mosaic

We are busy planning our wheelchair accessible raised-bed garden for Mosaic clients and staff members. Thanks to BHP Billiton for financial support for this project, we are in the planning phases. With 12 homes supported by Mosaic, participating individuals will gain employable skills, grocery bill savings, increased consumption of fresh vegetables and healthy eating habits.

During the week of July 26, a mission group from St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Longwood, Fla. will be on site to help construct the raised garden beds.
