A: I've been the HR Specialist here for about 7 years.
Q: What is the best part about working at Mosaic?
A: Being around the people we support is my favorite part. I like knowing that Mosaic is making a difference in their life. I also love my co-workers!
Q: What made you want to work at Mosaic?
A: I love helping others, so being part of an agency that does that is what drew me here.
Q: If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
A: I would pay off all of my bills and become debt free! I would also want to start giving back to the area charities that I would like to support.
Q: What is something that most people would be surprised to know about you?
A: I used to want to be a school teacher. When I was a little girl, I would line up all my stuffed animals in rows on two twin beds, and I would stand at the head of the beds and conduct class!

A: I've been a Direct Support Assistant here for two years.
Q: Why did you want to work at Mosaic?
A: I saw a job fair sign at Mosaic and decided to come check it out. When I found out what kind of work they did, I thought it would be a cool job. I have cousins with disabilities, so I was pretty familiar with it.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Mosaic?
A: I like when I can help at least one person during the day. There is no way to help everyone each day, but if I can help at least one person with a problem, that makes me feel good. The more I learn about them, the more I learn about myself.
Q: What's the most difficult part about working at Mosaic?
A: I think it's the most difficult when we all don't work together. When one person is off, it can throw everyone off.
Q: If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
A: I would make sure that my mother and father would never have to work again. I have always said that if I won the lottery I would buy my mom a brand new Mercedes Benz and my dad a new Harley Davidson.
Q: What's something that most people don't know about you?
A: I'm afraid of needles!

A: Four years
Q: What do you like the most about working at Mosaic?
A: The people I serve are what I like the most. I show them different things, but I also learn from them everyday. As an adult, I can go out whenever I want and do what I want, but people with disabilities can't always do that. I like being able to get them out in the community and help them make their life more fulfilling.
Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?
A: I think the most challenging part of my job has been getting to know the people I serve, their disabilities, and how their behavior relates to that. Sometimes, it can be frustrating, but I always try to step back from the situation and remember that I am here to help them.
Q: What made you want to work with people with disabilities? A: I have a family member who has a skin pigmentation disorder that covers most of her body. Seeing what she went through growing up and what she still goes through made me want to help others.
Q: What would you like most people to know about people with disabilities?
A: When we go out into the community, we get a lot of stares or people being rude and impatient. These people are human just like we are. I would like people to get to know someone before they judge them.
Q: What is something silly that most people don't know about you?
A: When I get nervous, I chew on my tongue! "Ty is not like other staff. She is more understanding. She doesn't let me slack off on anything and she doesn't let me feel sorry for myself!" - Bob Cernech

A: I have worked as a case manager at Mosaic for four and a half years.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I love our Mosaic team and I love working with the people we serve. They are all great people.
Q: Is there anything that you would want others to know about people with disabilities?
A: That they are people just like everyone else. They laugh, get angry, get sad, and are funny just like anyone else. Also, they can do more than people think they can, and they deserve more respect than they get.
Q: What is the most challenging part of your job?
A: It is so difficult to find funding for things that people need, such as services, supplies, and adaptive equipment.
Q: What did it mean to you to be April's Employee of the Month?
A: It made me really happy because even though my job can be challenging sometimes, it's nice to be recognized by my peers.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don't know about you?
A: I used to do Irish hard shoe dancing.

A: I've worked at Mosaic for a little more than a year and a half. Previously, I worked in early childhood education.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Mosaic?
A: This was a challenge that I wasn't sure I could handle at first, but I think the most beautiful thing about working here is that I make a difference in someone's life. Working at Mosaic has changed me. The people I work with trust me. As I'm working with each of them, I ask myself, "is this how I would want my child or my mother to be treated?"
Q: What is the most challenging thing about working at Mosaic?
A: It's difficult when I can't help because things are beyond my control. For example, it's hard to watch someone's health deteriorate and not be able to do anything to stop it.
Q: What did it mean to you to be the March Employee of the Month?
A: I really had no idea that people felt that way. I see so many others doing great things each day, so I really feel grateful that others see that in me.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don't know about you?
A: I write poetry.
