Mosaic Plans Shop to Rescue Furniture

Watching favorite wooden furniture lose its luster can be difficult, but a new MOSAIC business venture has come to the rescue.
Little Green Shed is hosting a grand opening Monday at 646 W. Cole St. in Bushnell from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with informative tours of the facility and refreshments. Patrons will see the two rooms where furniture stripping, sanding, staining and painting take place, as well as the bay for furniture drop off and pick up.

Mosaic opened one of its group homes to visitors Wednesday afternoon, part of its observance of a month dedicated to people with developmental disabilities.
Esty Mathias, who has three children living in Mosaic homes, spoke of her gratitude for the agency. Mrs. Mathias, a retired teacher who lived in Wheaton until moving here in November, said she and her husband made the decision to place their son, Steve, with Mosaic in 1991. Becky came in 1998 and Randy, who accompanied her at Wednesday's lunch at Mosaic's office, 220 N. Lafayette St., arrived in 2000.
