ROUND IT UP FOR MOSAIC WITH NO FRILLS
Local Non-profit Partners with No Frills Supermarkets in January
OMAHA, Neb. -- December 31, 2008 -- Mosaic and No Frills Supermarkets will be hosting Round it Up for Mosaic, a week long opportunity to round up your grocery bill at No Frills Supermarkets in Council Bluffs and Denison, Iowa and donate the extra funds to Mosaic to assist individuals with chronic mental illness in Council Bluffs and developmental disabilities in Denison. The event will take place Wednesday, January 7 through Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at No Frills locations in Council Bluffs at 1817 W Broadway and 1801 Valley View Drive and in Denison at Highway Junction 59 and 141.

LOCAL NONPROFIT EMPLOYEE DONATIONS MAKE DREAM COME TRUE
For Individual with Developmental Disability in Waterford
WATERFORD, Conn. -- December 30, 2008 -- With the aid of Mosaic's Wishes and Dreams Fund, a fund created by Mosaic in Connecticut with money raised by their annual Employee Campaign, Jim Meyer was able to make his dream of deep sea fishing a reality. This past summer he set sail aboard the Mijoy 747, a charter fishing boat out of Waterford, Conn. He instantly became the star of the boat, catching 13 bluefis, totaling almosts 33 pounds.

INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE AWARDS FROM INTERHAB AND SELF-ADVOCATE COALITION OF KANSAS
LIBERAL, Kan. -- December 30, 2008 -- Two individuals who receive services from Mosaic in Liberal were awarded for accomplishments made in 2008.

MOSAIC AWARDED $100,000 TO BUILD NEW ADAPTIVE HOUSING
OMAHA, Neb. -- December 29, 2008 -- The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $100,000 in Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund money to build two ten-unit five plexes in Beatrice. Mosaic, headquartered in Omaha, has a history of providing supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Beatrice for over 50 years.

SAHM FAMILY FOUNDATION AWARDS MOSAIC $10,000 GRANT
DALLAS, Texas--December 15, 2008-- The Sahm Family Foundation in Addison, Texas awarded Mosaic in Dallas a $10,000 grant which will support and expand the Mosaic in Dallas document destruction business at its Vocational Center by using grant to purchase an industrial-sized shredder.

OMAHA-BASED NONPROFIT IS SEMI-FINALIST FOR $250,000 COLLABORATION PRIZE
OMAHA, Neb. -- November 12, 2008 -- Mosaic, an Omaha-based nonprofit, has been selected as one of 30 semi-finalists from among 644 applicants nationwide for the Lodestar Foundation's Collaboration Prize, which will be awarded for the first time this year.

KIWANIS CLUB OF OMAHA, INC. PARTNERING WITH MOSAIC
OMAHA, Neb.--November 11, 2008--The Kiwanis Club of Omaha, Inc. is partnering with Mosaic in Omaha to start an Aktion Club. An Aktion Club is a community-service group for adult citizens living with disabilities. The mission of Aktion Club is to provide adults with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative and leadership, to serve their community, to be integrated into society, and to demonstrate the dignity and value of citizens living with disabilities. Aktion Club members strive to return to their communities the benefits, help, and caring they have received, as well as develop important skills in the process.

CONGRESSMAN LEE TERRY RECOGNIZES LOCAL NON-PROFIT IN U.S. HOUSE; MOSAIC EMPLOYEES TAKE LIVING WAGE ISSUE TO CONGRESS
OMAHA, Neb. -- September 12, 2008 --  Congressman Lee Terry, R-Nebraska, 2nd District, recognized Omaha-based non-profit, Mosaic, in the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. this week. Staff from Mosaic visited several members of Congress in Washington, D.C. to call for an end to the direct support workforce crisis threatening the quality of life for millions of people with disabilities.

BISHOP MARK HANSON VISITS NEBRASKA TO SPEAK AT MOSAIC'S PRESIDENT AND CEO INSTALLATION AND LEADERSHIP CONVOCATION
OMAHA, Neb. -- September 2, 2008 --  Rev. Mark Hanson, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and president of the Lutheran World Federation, and Jill Schumann, president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Services in America will speak at Mosaic's Leadership Convocation on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. at Marriott Regency in Omaha. Bishop Hanson will speak at a formal installation service for Mosaic's new president and chief executive officer, Linda Timmons, at 3 p.m. at Rejoice! Lutheran Church in Omaha.

MOSAIC REDWINE CHILD CARE CENTER STARTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
SAN ANGELO, TEXAS--August 27, 2008-- Thanks to the San Angelo Health Foundation, Mosaic is off to a great start towards a $1 million goal to establish an endowment fund
for a child care scholarship program called Project Teddy Bear.


YOUTH UTILIZE NINTENDO WII TO SUPPORT MOSAIC
FARMINGTON, N.M.--August 7, 2008-- Over summer break, some Farmington youth were committed to teaching and helping individuals with developmental disabilities through the use of the gaming system Nintendo Wii at Mosaic in Farmington.


MOSAIC IN DALLAS RECOGNIZES ANNIVERSARY FOR 22 YEARS OF SERVICE
DALLAS, Texas--August 4, 2008--Mosaic in Dallas is celebrating its 22 year anniversary on August 25, 2008 and is hosting events for the community. Mosaic will be dedicating its new Document Destruction business with a ribbon cutting/grand opening ceremony at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, August 25 at the Mosaic Vocational Center, 2245 Midway Rd., Ste. 300 in Carrollton.

TIMMONS TAKES OFFICE AS MOSAIC PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
OMAHA, Neb.--July 1, 2008-- Linda Timmons, president and chief executive officer of Mosaic, begins her term Tuesday, July 1, 2008. An installation service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Rejoice! Lutheran Church in Omaha.

"I've been given the privilege to lead and to serve. But it is not about one person, it never is here. From the age of 6, I've been around this organization, and becoming the leader is humbling," said Timmons.

JO BETH COLLIER OF MOSAIC IN DALLAS HONORED WITH PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
DALLAS, Texas--June 13, 2008-- Jo Beth Collier, Executive Director of Mosaic in Dallas, was honored with the 'Professional of the Year' award given by the ARC of Dallas. This award recognizes a professional in the field of intellectual disabilities who demonstrates exceptional commitment or makes an outstanding contribution toward improving the quality of life for individuals and families they serve.

MOSAIC PRESIDENT NAMED TO LUTHERAN SERVICES IN AMERICA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OMAHA, Neb.--May 7, 2008--Linda Timmons, president and chief operating officer of Mosaic, was appointed to a two year term on the board of directors for Lutheran Services in America at their annual meeting, which took place on April 24.

MOSAIC INNOVATIONS EARN NATIONAL RECOGNITION
OMAHA, Neb. --May 2, 2008-- Mosaic, a national nonprofit organization, earned a "Transformational Systems Change" award from Lutheran Services in America for innovative system-wide changes at the 2008 Annual Lutheran Services in America Conference in St. Louis, Mo. on April 24.

MOSAIC EMPLOYEES NAMED AS DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS OF THE YEAR
OMAHA-Neb.-- April 21, 2008--Four Mosaic employees were named 2008 Direct Support Professional of the Year for their respective states by the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR). They are Betty Leners in Nebraska, Rhonda Patrick in Delaware, Daisy Diggins in Indiana, and Justin Gibson in Utah. The awards were presented April 15 in New Orleans.

MOSAIC ANNOUNCES NEW OUTREACH PROGRAM IN TANZANIA, AFRICA
Omaha, Neb. -- February 21, 2008 -- Mosaic and its partners are improving the quality of lives of children with disabilities and their families in Moshi, Tanzania. Mosaic has partnered with the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, a companion synod of the Nebraska Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) and an international alliance called IMPACT for this innovative project.

VERY SPECIAL ARTS LIFE STORY EXHIBIT
OMAHA, Neb. -- February 15, 2008 -- Very Special Arts (VSA) of Nebraska received a $10,000 grant to coordinate a comprehensive art project with the following organizations serving developmentally disabled: Mosaic, Friendship Program, Ollie Webb Center, Community Alliance and ENCOR.

GARY LEE JOINS MOSAIC AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
OMAHA, Neb. -- January 16, 2008 -- Mosaic, a Nebraska-based, national nonprofit organization, has hired Gary Lee as senior vice president of business development. In his role, Lee will work with Mosaic's risk management team and insurance programs and will develop for-profit business ventures.
