Discover the Possibilities

Mosaic invites you to attend a free, one-hour event called Discover the Possibilities to learn the truth about people with disabilities living and working in your community. You will be given a tour of our mission through stories told by the people we serve, their families and our staff members.

About Us

Mosaic provides a life of possibilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We help people define their own happiness. We support them and empower the pursuit of their goals. We celebrate their successes, even if that success is as simple as the pursuit itself.

Mosaic began providing services in Pittsburg and Coffeyville, Kansas on July 1, 2010.  (Read more.)

The program currently serves more than 138 people through residential and day services, case management, employment coordination, supported living and other services and employs 160 staff members.

Mosaic takes the polar plunge!

The Polar Plunge is an event organized by the Kansas Special Olympics to raise money for Special Olympics. Each year, Mosaic has a team that raises money and takes the chilly plunge into frigid water. This year, Pittsburg broke a new record for the Polar Plunge, as it was the first event where it was actually snowing during the plunge.

It snowed throughout the entire day, making the event quite cold! Volunteers directed runners and walkers where to turn along the route, and made sure to point out obstacles (such as ice and slippery sidewalks). Team Mosaic had two staff members out of the six total participating in the Polar Strut.

After the Polar Strut, Team Mosaic showed up to the costume contest, decked out in their finest 80s attire and took the icy plunge. After a quick dip into ice cold waters, team members ran to the warming tents to get nice and warm again.

Team Mosaic raised more than $900 for Special Olympics, and the event in total raised over $30,000!

Thank you to our community members who participated on the team: Jordanna Perkins, Sandy Hickman, Tarah Cockrell, Tyana Maiseroulle, Nichole King, Staci Walker, Pat Duncan, Caiden Barber, Nicole Lakey, Rosalea Maslen, and Steve Stephens. We couldn't have done it without you! A special thanks also goes out to Alicia DeBoard of Come Lil One Photography, for capturing some great photos of our team!
