Pete has been a staff member as Mosaic in Central Nebraska for over 11 years. He and Sandi, his wife of 44 years, have been host home parents, foster parents, and cared for other teens, for most of their marriage. Pete started the race at 5:50 a.m. and finished with a time of 3:07:44. After spending a few hours recuperating, Pete called to check in at the walk being held in Hastings and to let us know his race results. Pete said, "Well, Minnie Mouse didn't have to resuscitate me!" Pete also said that even though his time wasn't as good as the year before, he was still happy with it and was thankful to be able to take part in the run.
We would like to thank Pete and his wife Sandi for their continued support and dedication to Mosaic and the people we serve. By partnering with Pete and Sandi, we have been able to raise over $3,000 dollars this year for the summer recreation program. We would also like to thank the following sponsors:
James Kindig
Pizza Hut in Hastings
Steven and Barbara Dreher
Neil and Joyce Grothen
From all of us at Mosaic in Central Nebraska, thank you to everyone who participated in and supported "Dream the I'm Possible Dream" this year.

Pete Mackie, a staff member of Mosaic
for over 12 years, has dedicated a large part of his life to
supporting people with intellectual disabilities. Pete and his wife
have been host-home parents, foster parents, and cared for teens, for
over 30 years of their marriage. On Sat. January 7, 2012, at 5:50
a.m., Pete will again demonstrate his commitment to the Mosaic
mission, by running a half marathon. This will be Pete's third visit
to the Walt Disney World marathon, and also for the third time, Pete
will pay his own expenses and registration fees; all to help raise
money for individuals supported by Mosaic in Central Nebraska.
This year's goal, like last year, is to
raise $5,000. Please help make the dream come true for people with
intellectual disabilities and become a sponsor for Pete. Let's make
every magical mile count!
