Volunteer

Volunteers are welcome at Mosaic in San Angelo. If you want to give back to the community, come volunteer and have fun doing it!

Volunteers to support the individuals in service directly and the needs of the individuals indirectly are equally valued. We have both support positions and direct service volunteer opportunities available.

Some of the available opportunities are:

  • Adopt-A-Home Program - Churches or service organizations could help in a variety of ways such as helping decorate homes for Christmas and providing Christmas presents, sending birthday cards to people in group homes, serving as volunteer friends, etc.
  • Mosaic TRAILS - Mosaic TRAILS horsemanship program has the following volunteer opportunities for people to be sidewalkers (those who walk along side the horse and rider) and horse leaders (those who lead a horse and rider in the arena) the following dates and times:
  • Tuesday 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. (children riders)
  • Wednesday 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. (adult riders)
  • Thursday 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. (adult riders)
No experience is needed, and we provide all the training.
  • Committees - We need community members to sit on committees such as Safety, Human Rights, and Events.
  • Arts and Crafts Projects - Flexible times and days depending on volunteer schedule. Teach a class or help with arts and crafts projects. Share your talents with others!
  • Cooking Projects - Help to teach hands-on cooking and culinary skills.
  • Puppet Shows - Entertain children in the childcare center by putting on puppet shows. Times are flexible depending on volunteer schedule.
  • Special Olympics - We need assistants and coaches to help with Special Olympics events: basketball, track and field, and bowling. Contact us to volunteer and learn more about Special Olympics events.

There are an endless number of volunteer opportunities at Mosaic in San Angelo! For additional information or to sign up, please contact us.

Volunteer Spotlight

Mosaic appreciates all our volunteers as they are significant in making programs successful and enhancing the lives of the individuals we support.

Terry Wallace is our volunteer of the quarter this newsletter.  Wallace has given a great deal of time in working with Mosaic and Mosaic TRAILS by wearing a number of hats and serving on the Human Rights Committee. An avid  horsewoman, Terry provides ongoing, invaluable assistance with a variety of horse-related issues and drives the "official" Mosaic TRAILS horse ambulance, taking the horses to the vet when needed.
