Embracing People and Their Dreams

Mosaic has spent more than a century serving people. It is what we do. Our mission statement reads:

Embracing God’s call to serve in the world, Mosaic advocates for people with intellectual disabilities and provides opportunities for them to enjoy a full life.

While Mosaic has a mission statement, it might be simpler and easier to say that we ask people about the life they want and make it happen.

What that means is different for every person we serve. We don’t choose what gives meaning to others’ lives. We call this personalized services – they are designed around the person’s dreams and goals.

Inside the organization, we talk about One Mosaic, something we define as ‘one team, one mission, many partners.’

We work as one, from local agencies to national office, focused on our common mission. We know that we are better together.

Mosaic’s mission is what we share. The mission is where dreams become realities. The mission is the reason Mosaic exists. That mission is why you’re reading this – you want to be a part of it!

This new blog is aptly named “Mosaic Possible.” In future posts you’ll see stories and information about our mission. I invite you to share your thoughts. I also invite you to be a part of One Mosaic, helping people explore their dreams to see what’s possible.

There is nothing more satisfying than helping someone succeed and achieve a dream.

It’s also satisfying to help them try; even if one fails, there is often great joy simply in trying.  Sometimes, when you reach high, you can grab a star. Even if you don’t, you’ve been lifted up for a while.

Thanks for making our mission possible.
