Graduating to New Possibilities

Abbey Glaser at Graduation

A life of possibilities. We say that all the time at Mosaic.

The pomp of a graduation ceremony seems to speak the same thing: a life of possibilities.

Those possibilities are almost palpable for a number of people served by Mosaic as they achieve graduation milestones this time of year. With their families, they look toward the future with optimism and excitement.

Whether it is a toddler at Mosaic’s integrated pre-school program in San Angelo, Texas, or young adults graduating from the school on Mosaic’s campus in Axtell, Neb., or people served at other locations across the nation, it is a time of transition. It is filled with possibilities.

That’s exciting.

Abbey Glaser was celebrating that excitement with family and friends at Mosaic’s campus in Beatrice, Neb.  Now that she is a graduate, Abbey moves into a new phase of life where she’ll explore different work opportunities while she also learns the skills of domestic life.

Her dreams for the future are not much different from any high school graduate, anywhere in the United States—find a rewarding career and fill her life with things that bring her meaning.

Abbey loves animals and hopes to find work that supports that. She also will continue her involvement in Special Olympics and as a volunteer at the Humane Society. No doubt, she’ll also find new activities to replace some of the many things she was involved with in high school.

Zachary Garey, served by Mosaic in Pontiac, Ill. shares Abbey’s excitement about the future. For now, Zach will move into a transition program to help him focus on job skills and find satisfying work.

But he is also a little nervous—there are many possibilities out there for him.

One thing is certain: he will not face the future alone. Mosaic will be there to support him as he explores his possibilities.  We’ll also be there for Abbey and many others across the country.

That’s our mission: help people explore and live a life of possibilities.

Congratulations, graduates.  The future is ready for you.
