Mosaic at Home is Also Beneficial to Host Home Families

A growing number of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities want more personalized services in a smaller setting. Importantly, data shows 24/7 shared living services often improve people’s physical health, bring greater mental and emotional wellbeing, offer more enriching relationships and give them more choices for where they live and who they live with. All of these happen through our growing shared living service, Mosaic at Home.

If you’re a regular visitor to the Mosaic blog, you’ve most likely read about this service: The person supported shares a home with a Mosaic independent host home provider, who helps the person be an active member of the household and the greater community.

Recently, Grand Junction City Lifestyle magazine in Colorado ran a story about Mosaic at Home service provider Tiffinie Storm and the man she serves, Steve Browning. It gives a real, heartwarming look why Mosaic at Home is so beneficial not only to those we support but also how it positively affects the host home family.

Thank you to Grand Junction City Lifestyle magazine’s Scott Fairbanks and especially Steven and Tiffinie–as well as Mosaic in Western Colorado’s Executive Director Kelly Britton for sharing this story.

If you’re interested or know someone who may be interested in becoming a shared living provider with Mosaic, learn more about it on our Mosaic at Home Providers web page.
