Mosaic in Pontiac

Volunteers are worth their weight in gold. They share their time and talents without any compensation. There is enormous value in volunteering. It demonstrates a commitment to the community and a willingness to work for the betterment of others.

Here are a couple examples of what some of our volunteers are doing  for Mosaic.

Roland leads a Bible study at one of our group homes. Every other week, he comes carrying his Bible along with his gentle spirit, ready to share the word of God. He has been doing this for more than two years. We are inspired by his dedication and faithfulness to help Mosaic’s people grow in the things of God. Roland is truly priceless!

We refer to them as God’s Handymen, but their families refer to them as Gordon and Mike. They are members of First Baptist Church of Pontiac, who answered a call to make a difference. They have done many projects, and have gone over and above our expectations. The amount of money they have saved Mosaic on labor alone has been a huge benefit.

The most recent example of their latest handiwork is pictured. Mike built two raised garden boxes, then they set them out in the backyard and filled them with dirt. The people who live in that home can work in the garden without having to bend over or can come right up to it in a wheelchair. We can’t wait to see what they’ve grown! They were thrilled to plan what they are going to plant and enjoy going outside and tending to their garden. Won’t it be exciting to see their harvest?

We have many amazing volunteers. Those who visit the homes, help on projects, serve on the Advisory Committee, Ambassadors, Sustainable Fundraising Team and everyone else who generously gives of their time, talents and compassion. We can do so much more with you than without you. Volunteers are making a difference!
