Mosaic in Pontiac

The relationship with the Church is Mosaic’s foundation; it’s where we started more than 100 years ago, and it’s where we continue to grow. First Presbyterian Church in Pontiac is a great example, showing the vital need a church fills. When we first met Pastor Canessa Lagan, she said we were welcome to use their building. We have been able to do this for meetings, an Employee Campaign Breakfast and a miniconcert at which we were presented a gift from Alpha Mu Chapter, a group of retired women educators.

But that’s not all. They made themselves available to be a drop off location for “Christmas in July.” We have been able to present a Discover the Possibilities Tour to their Missions Group and recently spoke to the congregation during Mission Sunday. They continue to offer support and opportunities. There are many churches in the area that help to reach out and make a difference in someone’s life, but First Presbyterian has exceeded our expectations. We want to thank them for giving us a voice to share the needs of Mosaic.

You also can host a Discover the Possibilities Tour with your church or small group. The tours are one-hour events where we share our mission and vision, and show opportunities for you to make a difference in very practical and easy ways. We also share stories of people we serve told by those who know it best—family members, volunteers, staff and the individuals themselves. Lunch or a light snack is provided.
