Mosaic in Colorado Springs

Mosaic in Colorado Springs supports both Dustin Blackburn and Richard Schatz to lead a meaningful life. Dustin has been living in a Mosaic host home and attending our community-based day program for the past few years. Richard began services with Mosaic a little over a year ago and is also supported by a community day program and a host home. Over the past year, the duo’s friendship has grown. With the ongoing support from Mosaic, Dustin and Richard continued to explore their passions and live their lives to the fullest through athletic participation in multiple sports including basketball and bowling.

Dustin and Richard helped their team, the Titans, reach victory at the 2018 Special Olympics State Basketball Finals in Denver, with a winning score of 43-32 against the Bulls. Though both teams were fierce and on fire, the Titans were able to make the right plays to win it all!

These two are some of the most caring, supportive, and well-rounded teammates anyone could ask for. Mosaic, including all of Richard and Dustin’s family and friends, is so very proud of their success and look forward to supporting them in all theirfuture endeavors.
