Mosaic in Beatrice
Mosaic Possible means following your dreams, even if that involves politics!  Karl Boerger has a knack for politics. So when the Nebraska Association of Service Providers (NASP) presented the opportunity to visit with his Senator and see the Legislature in session, there was no hesitation. Karl took the day off work to celebrate Nebraska's 101st birthday with intellectual and development disabilities services providers and self-advocates from across the state, including friends from Mosaic in Axtell and Kearney. He called Senator Roy Baker off the floor of the session to tell him about some important legislation that will affect him (see LB 864 and LB 793) and invited the Senator to take part in the proclamation acknowledging March as National Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Karl also got the chance to sit in the balcony while the Legislature was in session - watching the action live was a dream come true! Of course, no birthday is complete without cake. So he helped spread the message of NASP while sharing cupcakes with Senator Baker's staff Barb Dorn.  Thank you NASP and Senator Baker for the opportunity, and thank you Mosaic for making all of this possible!
