Mosaic in Southeast Texas

Carolyn and Albert are a couple served by Mosaic in Southeast Texas and have been married for 23 years. They enjoy living in a home they call their own. It took a long time for them to be able to own a home after renting for many years. It was a proud moment when they finally saved up enough and got the mortgage approved to get their own place 10 years ago. They enjoy having plenty of room in their house, storage space, being able to have and care for their three dogs, and having a yard where they can grow vegetables and flowers.

Mosaic in Northern Colorado

Mosaic in Northern Colorado hosted its sixth annual Partners in Possibilities fundraising event June 8, welcoming nearly 100 guests for lunch at the Fort Collins Hilton Hotel. Approximately $20,000 was raised to support Mosaic’s mission of providing a life of possibilities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Community members heard testimony from Alexis Dickson, a host home provider for Mosaic. Alexis shared experiences providing direct care for a person with developmental disabilities and how it changed her life.

Mosaic in Northern Colorado

Mosaic in Northern Colorado is fortunate to have some of the best staff and providers in the area. They are great at learning our clients’ needs and providing the type of supports that work best for each person. In an effort to show how much we appreciate the long hours, extra miles, and commitment shown to those we serve, we shine a spotlight on two individuals who deserve recognition.

The sun is our primary source of Vitamin D, which helps our bodies absorb calcium. It does not take much sun exposure, however, for most of us to receive the amount of vitamin D our bodies need. Repeated, unprotected exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays can be dangerous and even cause skin cancer. Most children receive a lifetime of sun exposure before they turn 18, so it is very important to exercise proper sun safety at all times.

Mosaic in Ellsworth

The Ellsworth Childcare and Learning Center has been in existence since May 2012. In the past year, the organization has made great strides to improve their services in the Ellsworth community. Stephanie Roehrman has been the Executive Director of the Learning Center for two years. A native of Ellsworth County, she felt it was her calling to come home when the opportunity became available.

“My family left a legacy of giving back to the community, this was my way of giving back,” Stephanie said.

Mosaic International

Mosaic’s partner in Tanzania, Building a Caring Community (BCC), has been amazed and blessed by the volunteers who have come from all points on the globe, including a small town in Iceland. Sigridur Ingibjorg Stefansdottir, or Sigga for short, found BCC shortly after graduation when she decided to search for volunteer opportunities using her occupational therapy skills. Throughout her experience, she has learned a great deal about BCC, herself, and working with children who have disabilities.
