Mosaic in Northern Colorado

For nearly two decades, Kim and Darren File have embodied the spirit of giving. What started out as donated Christmas gifts for a group home has grown into an entire day of giving, which now includes almost every person the agency serves.

Mosaic in Northern Colorado

Mosaic in Northern Colorado is fortunate to have some of the best staff and providers in the area. They are great at learning our clients’ needs and providing the type of supports that work best for each person. In an effort to show how much we appreciate the long hours, extra miles, and commitment shown to people served, we have chosen to shine a spotlight on an individual who deserves recognition.

Happy New Year!

Do you make resolutions? I used to set a few each year and would find my interest or my commitment fade as winter was in full swing. A few years ago, I decided to change it up and made a list of celebrations from the previous year and a wish list for the year in front of me. I am excited to share a few with you now.

Mosaic in Central Iowa

Mosaic in Central Iowa volunteers gave more time in 2017 than ever before to the people we serve. We were also privileged to welcome more group volunteers than any year previously!

Thank you to our ongoing individual volunteers who share their time and talents in many different ways. Some people help do office filing, others put on cooking classes for people in service, many people volunteer time with their certified therapy dogs at Mosaic group homes, and one person meets weekly with a person in service at the library to read books together.

Mosaic in Omaha

Mosaic in Omaha strives to create a meaningful life for each person we serve. This is often accomplished through partnerships with like-minded organizations.

In June of 2017, Rev. James Lindberg, pastor at Living Grace Lutheran Church in Omaha, attended a Discover the Possibilities event. Pastor Lindberg was moved by the  Mission of Mosaic, and he felt the members of his church could help make a difference in the lives of the people being served at the Omaha agency.

Mosaic in Omaha

On December 19, a group of people in service and Mosaic staff delivered 305 pounds of clothing, blankets, non-perishable food and other items to Open Door Mission. We also delivered eight large boxes full of pet food, blankets and towels to the Nebraska Humane Society. Mosaic in Omaha is very grateful for everything we receive from the community and wanted to give back.

Mosaic in Delaware

By Angi McCloskey

As soon as we arrived at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Wilmington Art Loop, Shari sat down at the piano and began to play. Shari Hope, a person served by Mosaic in Delaware was invited to volunteer for Art Loop by Pastor Jason Churchill, to do what she loves most, playing the piano.

Shari played passionately for about an hour, a variety of songs, and one right after another. She played each song, all from memory, including gospels, American traditional tunes, nursery rhymes, and classical pieces were part of her repertoire that evening.

Mosaic in Arizona

Over the weekend, Arizona had a very special visitor at our Mosaic Christmas party.  SANTA! It was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the people served in our through our Mosaic at Home program.  A great time was had by all as we drank hot cocoa, shared stories, and were led in song by one of the people served here in Arizona.
