Mosaic in Central Iowa

Thanks to a generous grant from Prairie Meadows, Mosaic in Central Iowa was able to open a new computer lab in Mosaic’s administrative office in Urbandale. The computer lab is used almost every day by Mosaic in Central Iowa staff for new employee training, ongoing staff re-certifications and online educational opportunities. Prairie Meadows awarded Mosaic a Community Betterment Grant for the project “A Computer Lab of Possibilities.”

Twenty new laptops, ten rolling desks and 20 computer chairs were purchased to create the lab, which is also available for use by anyone served by Mosaic. In addition to hosting scheduled trainings and administrative chart reviews, there are open lab times during the day—and sometimes before or after regular office hours—during which a member of Mosaic’s training department is onsite to assist staff or people in service use the computers. As nearly all of Mosaic’s employee training has been moved online, this grant funding could not have come at a better time.

On behalf of all of Mosaic in Central Iowa’s staff, we are very grateful to Prairie Meadows for making our computer lab project possible.
