Mosaic in Central Iowa
Richard, served by Mosaic in Central Iowa, recently enjoyed a very meaningful day thanks to the planning of his direct support staff and the generosity of the Nevada fire department. "As soon as the firetruck turned down the street, he got so excited," said Ashley Baker, a Mosaic Direct Support Associate. The firefighters came to his house and brought Richard a Nevada Fire Department t-shirt and hat to wear. Richard then got to get in the firetruck and ride around town for about 20 minutes. He especially loved when they honked the horn and turned on the sirens! Direct Support Associate Janice Hartz coordinated the visit as a surprise for Richard. "I was happy to do it, and it made it even better when he was so happy about it!"
