Restoring Comfort for Mindy
Arlene Deaner believes creating a comfortable environment is a big part of her job as a Home Provider.
It took Mindy eight years to reach a comfortable place after moving in with Arlene and her husband, Jon, 25 years ago. But once she was, the rest was history. Mindy loved spending time in the bathtub. Arlene joked that she would take 10 baths a day if she let her. But when physical limitations made getting in and out of the bathtub harder, Mindy’s delight turned to fear.
With donor support, Arlene installed a walk-in bathtub earlier this year. The installation has improved Mindy’s quality of life. She is no longer afraid of taking a bath; it’s one of her favorite things to do again.
