Mom of Twins Supported by Mosaic Captivates College World Series-Goers with Her Story

Mosaic was one of eight nonprofits selected to participate in Flying Flags for Charity at the 2026 NCAA Men’s College World Series (CWS) in Omaha, Nebraska.

On our designated day, June 15, college baseball fans from across the country gathered in Baseball Village to learn about Mosaic’s mission.

“We’re honored to have had the opportunity to share our mission with a national audience,” said Linda Timmons, president and CEO of Mosaic.

The highlight of the event came when Sherry Reimers, the mother of twin brothers supported by Mosaic, took the stage to share how Mosaic touched her family’s lives.

In a conversation with Matt Sheffield, a Mosaic development officer, Sherry shared how Mosaic’s support transformed her sons’ lives. She said that before Mosaic, they were living a safe, but isolated existence. Now, they are living a life of possibilities.

Josh and Jason are supported through Mosaic at Home®, a service offering that matches people with disabilities with a contracted home provider. They live together, and the home provider assists with daily tasks, appointments, and social outings.

This living arrangement has sparked so many little moments of joy for the brothers—from the simple, daily magic of dog cuddles to adventures like tagging along to sporting events with their home providers. It’s also given Sherry an immense peace of mind that she didn’t have before.

“I’m not the stressed-out caretaker anymore. I get to show up, love them, and enjoy them, knowing they are exactly where they are supposed to be,” she said. “I have peace knowing that Josh and Jason will continue to have full, meaningful lives where they are known and loved by their community.”

After Sherry appeared on stage, Mosaic was presented with a $2,000 check to empower more individuals like Josh and Jason to live their best lives.

“As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors to fulfill our mission,” Timmons said. “Each gift supports the needs, goals, and dreams of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
