Bargain Box started in Beatrice in 1961 with a group of ministers’ wives who felt the residents with IDD in the nearby, then-named Martin Luther Homes didn’t have all they needed; specifically, they wanted to raise money for the residents to buy necessary items the state wouldn’t or couldn’t provide.
April is National Autism Awareness Month. Recognizing the unique supports that assist people with autism to excel has guided Mosaic’s Grow Our Own Clinician program to grow from one clinician six years ago to more than 20 today, and to support more than 100 employees to receive their IBCCES Autism Credential.
Faithfulness is so important to Mosaic’s model of whole-person healthcare. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, the question immediately became how to continue worship services to keep the people Mosaic serves connected to their spirituality without jeopardizing their physical health.
Mosaic has teamed up with a like-minded service, StationMD, which is a telemedicine physician practice that’s dedicated to providing medical care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
