Mosaic in Southeast Texas

What is a volunteer? The Merriam- Webster dictionary defines it as a person who voluntarily undertakes or expresses a willingness to undertake a service.

That’s just what Mosaic did on March 3 for the Keep Brazos Beautiful Texas Trash Off Event.

The day started at 9 a.m. and Mosaic was assigned to two neighborhood streets in College Station. After reviewing the Litter Toolbox Safety Sheet, the work began! With safety vests and gloves, teams of two set out to pick up litter with litter grabbers and plenty of trash bags. Who knew that we’d end up with over seven bags of trash for two residential streets? Amazing!

As we worked, Jeremy shared that he was “proud of his civic duty.”

Too often, we only see the offering and giving of support to individuals Mosaic is called to serve, but what a gift to see, hear, and witness their desire to give back to the community.

Respect is a core value at Mosaic, our intent is to listen to each person and honor their choices, affirming their dignity and upholding Mosaic’s mission and vision. We strive to be keen listeners to the desires of the individuals Mosaic serves. It was great to see that on that day they were able to give back by volunteering with such enthusiasm and pure joy!
