Empowering People in Colorado

Real life. Real possibilities.

Empowering People in Colorado

By Molly Kennis
Vice President of Operations, Colorado

Whether you’re deeply connected to Mosaic or new to our caring community, I’d like to take this opportunity to reintroduce you to our mission.

Embracing God’s call, Mosaic relentlessly pursues opportunities that empower people.

Relentlessly pursuing opportunities has led Mosaic to provide a wide spectrum of services for people throughout our 106-year history, and we have no plans of stopping this pursuit any time soon.

As the vice president of operations over the state, I hope to use this statewide newsletter to share updates on the opportunities we are pursuing at Mosaic and stories of the people we’ve empowered.

Thanks to you – our donors, partners, family and friends – people in 38 communities right here in Colorado are empowered to live more satisfying lives and experience as much independence as they choose.

A few highlights include:

  • Adding a new service – daily respite care – that helps primary caregivers receive extended rest and support, while ensuring that people in service remain fully supported.
  • Increasing our ability to support people with mental and behavioral health needs, a much needed service for people with disabilities, as well as mental health diagnosis.

While much has changed in the healthcare landscape in the last five years, our commitment to the people we support in the state of Colorado remains.

We will continue to provide new services and options to empower the more than 387 people we support.

We do this by:

  • Building partnerships with community organizations and churches that welcome the people we support to participate.
  • Collaborating with employers to help the people we serve find work opportunities.
  • Advocating with government officials and regulators to make sure people’s rights are protected and to ensure that life-saving services are appropriately funded.
  • Friend and fundraising to help bridge the gap between what’s funded and what it takes to live a meaningful life.

It takes faithfulness, grit and a community of people connecting with each other to make sure all can belong. Thank you for making possibilities a reality in Colorado!

Did You Know?

Mosaic supports 387 people in 38 communities in Colorado.

We couldn’t do this without the support of donors, volunteers, our 124 employees and 165 contractors who empower the people we support and YOU. Thank you!

DSPs: The Real Deal

Some days are tough – that’s real life – but our DSPs are authentic, they stay grounded, and they bring a lot of heart every day, providing real possibilities to people. Join Mosaic during DSP Recognition Week, Sept. 8-14, as we thank our DSPs for supporting real life.

Celebrating 40

Mosaic recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of services in Colorado. Colorado Springs was the first location outside of Nebraska for Mosaic. Parent-advocates and staff worked together to establish services in four locations.
