Mosaic in Rockford

At-risk children who participate in the Remedies Renewing Lives shelter and Rock House Kids received a bag of full goodies this past Easter, thanks to Mosaic and the Alpine Kiwanis group.

The week before Easter, we gathered some people we serve to volunteer and collected donations and supplies to fill Easter bags for two local charities. Alpine Kiwanis came to our office and we made an Easter basket assembly line and filled almost 150 Easter bags. People were excited about the volunteer project because it gave them a chance to give back to the community.

Our goal was to brighten Easter morning for children in the programs. To some it may be just a basket, but for us, it is a gift of kindness. For some of the children, this will be their first Easter basket.

Remedies and Rock House Kids often serve children who don’t have families that support them or aren’t able to go home. It’s important for them to be able to celebrate the holidays the way others do. The Easter baskets let them know there are people who see them as valuable and care for their well-being.
